d) Roles of a Fire
Fire plays an important role in the life of a forest. When the fire is put out, nature is a main represent of opening up dense old growth and turns branches, leaves and dead wood into instant soil fertilizer. Sun-warmed, nutrient-rich soil allows rapid re-growth of plants, providing a lot of food for any type of animals in the wildlife. Burned but standing trees are havens for insects, which feed any type of birds and many other small creatures. Also it provides shelter, nesting sites and perches for a wide variety of wildlife species.
