- It is your responsibility to prepare yourself, your family and your home from the bushfire.
- You must make important decisions before the fire season starts.
- Leaving early is more important when you have not prepared yourself or your property to give you and your home the best level of protection from the fire.
- The higher the Fire Danger Rating, the more dangerous the conditions.
- Bushfire alerts: It gives you an indication of the level of threat of the fire for example in a fire situation you may hear a warning message over your radio, TV or receiving a text/phone call.
- Leave early: If the Fire Danger Rating is code RED, leaving early is always the safest option.
- Be Well Prepared: A well prepared home that you can actively defend on severe and extreme fire danger rating days.
- Last Resort: If there is no other available to you and the fire is approaching head to anywhere that has water (beach, swimming pool, river, etc.)
- Leaving late is dangerous.
